Sudan shares borders with six African countries. They are Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Chad and Libya. Sudan has ancient beginnings. The Nile River flows through this huge country. Today Sudanese families are suffering. It is said to be the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.

Artist as First Responder is a proud partner to Eastside Arts Alliance in bringing the community this program, which will feature expert presentations on the basic history of Sudan and a breakdown of the current crisis by Dr. Obeid of Sudanese American Physicians. The program, MC’ed by radio host Hana Baba, will also feature performances by the MCShabbal Sudanese Dance group, a Sudanese Arts and crafts exhibit table, and light Sudanese food.

Donations go to the Sudanese Association of Northern California, which helps provide relief to families displaced by the war; and to the Sudanese American Physicians Association. Pay at the door — no registration required.
